Camp Bob Waldorf Explorations

Camp Bob Waldorf Explorations

Camp Bob Waldorf Explorations is a unique and exciting 10-day summer session for campers entering grades 7 – 10. Teen campers are taught the value of social action through specialized programming and community service opportunities, gaining valuable leadership skills, while also participating in typical camp activities (swimming, sports, ropes, etc.) for a unique and exciting summer program that will allow them to learn new skills in a specific area while still surrounded by all the friends and fun of camp!  Campers choose a core program prior to the start of the session, and spend the majority of their time learning and growing within these tracks. Core programs include Farm-to-Table Cooking, Outdoor Adventure, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, and Media Arts, all taught by experienced program specialists. Explorations campers sleep in cabins with other campers the same age and gender, as well as two or three camp counselors, and participate in their Core activities with a mixed-age, coed group. Camp Bob Waldorf Explorations operates in tandem with our 4th – 6th grade program during Camp Session 2 only.

Counselor-In-Training

Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is a unique volunteer experience for teens entering grades 11 and 12. Participants will split their time between training sessions with their fellow CITs and time shadowing their counselors/working with the campers. Being a CIT gives teens the opportunity to see camp through the eyes of a staff member, while also still enjoying time with their peer group, engaging in training sessions, and participating in camp activities. In addition to learning counseling skills, CITs also gain the necessary tools to become leaders and role models in their communities. CITs can apply for this program during Camp Bob Waldorf or Kibbutz Bob Waldorf, our Jewish camp program. While CITs do not need to be Jewish to attend, we ask that they are respectful of our campers’ religious beliefs and camp’s practices at that time.

To begin the application process, please fill out a camper application online and select the CIT program. Please reach out to Rose Levenson, Assistant Director, with any questions.
