College Guidance Program Two Girls

Higher education is a fundamental component of career readiness, personal development and financial stability. It is in that spirit that we are proud to offer our high school age campers professional pre-college support through our College Guidance Program, in partnership with College Fit 360. This program will ensure that campers are truly prepared to succeed in the college application process. By the end of the program, students will acquire the following tools for success:

9th and 10th Grade

Students in 9th and 10th grade will be given access to a College Fit 360 Counselor who will help guide them throughout their high school career in preparation for the college application process their junior year. Newsletters and packets will be distributed throughout the cycle on relevant topics, including testing strategy and preparation. Students will also have access to 1 one-on-one counseling session.

The one-on-one counseling sessions will cover:

  • Getting the most out of high school including academic planning
  • Extracurricular activity development
  • How to obtain letters of recommendation

Camp Waldorf College Guidance Program 11th grade

11th Grade

Students currently in 11th grade will be given access to College Fit 360 counselors, as well as access to multiple newsletters and written information packets that will be distributed throughout the cycle. The counselor will give each student 10 one-on-one counseling sessions throughout the application and college decision process, which will extend into their senior year.

The newsletters and packets will touch on relevant topics for high school juniors, including:

  • Testing strategy
  • List-building
  • Essay writing
  • Financial aid

The one-on-one counseling sessions will cover:

  • Essay writing
  • Test preparation, FAFSA, and available scholarship opportunities
  • Application assistance

Participants must have either attended one Witherbee program OR two years of summer camp in order to be invited. One of the sessions of summer camp has to have been in 2017 for the upcoming cycle, but please note the summer sessions do not have to be consecutive.

Campers that go through this process may also be eligible for our college scholarship programs.
