Since 1938, our Camp has been providing memorable camp experiences to youth, following the ideal that all children should have the opportunity to experience camp regardless of their family’s financial ability. Camp Bob Waldorf on the Max Straus Campus is a non-profit camp, owned and operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA), sprawling over 112 acres in the beautiful Verdugo Mountains in Glendale, California. Through our residential summer camp programs, weekend retreats, outdoor backpacking trips, college scholarship programs and mentoring activities, we provide over 1,500 underserved children each year with the tools, community, and support system necessary for success as they progress from elementary school to college. At camp, campers learn to be inclusive, creative, responsible and thoughtful individuals. Click here to learn more about our programs.
Camp Bob Waldorf on the Max Straus Campus is accredited by the American Camping Association, which approves camps’ standards of operation, particularly those related to program quality and the health and safety of campers and staff. As far as campers are concerned, the numbers speak for themselves: more than 50% of campers who attended camp last year returned to camp this year!
