The overnight summer camp experience.

Since 1938, Camp Bob Waldorf has been the place where LA kids spend their summers outdoors. Seven sessions of overnight camp for grades 2 through 12, on 112 acres in the Verdugo Hills of Glendale.

What your child can do here.

Swimming

30-by-60-foot pool with certified lifeguards. Swim instruction and free swim daily.

Witherbee Wilderness Camp

(For returning campers, grades 8-11)

Witherbee Wilderness Camp is a 10-day program for returning campers in grades 8 through 11. It starts at Camp Bob Waldorf and continues with a 7-day backpacking trip through Big Basin Redwoods State Park and Yosemite National Park, in partnership with Lasting Adventures.

This program is physically challenging. Campers hike with 30- to 40-pound backpacks over significant elevation changes. They cook over open fires, sleep outdoors, and live without electricity or plumbing for seven days.

All trips are led by trained wilderness guides from Lasting Adventures and Camp Bob Waldorf staff.

Campers who successfully complete a Witherbee Wilderness trip are eligible to apply for the Arnold S. Nelson College Scholarship.

Leadership Programs

(For returning campers, grades 10-11)

Returning campers in grades 10 through 12 can step into real leadership roles at camp. Leaders-in-Training (LITs) work alongside cabin counselors, lead activities, and support younger campers.

Pillar Leaders take on roles tied to our four values: Community, Identity, Inclusion, and Respect. Both tracks include weekly leadership workshops and skills that show up on college applications and in real life.

What a day at camp looks like.

A day at camp is packed full of activities that encourage campers to discover their interests and unique abilities. We strike a careful balance between structured programs and supervised free play, along with time as a full community and time spent in smaller groups according to grade level.
